My baby is Worth It

I am a terrible blogger. We can blame it on David because he needs his computer for class.  But I am going to try.  Again.
As some of you may know, we have been struggling with some constipation issues with Matthias.  But not what you would think. He actually goes up to 12 days without going! He is in pain before going, then going is painful, and his poor butt bleeds for days. It is a sad situation.
The pediatrician doesn't know what to think so we have an appointment with a Children's GI specialist.  It makes me a little nervous because the first thing they are going to do is put a scope up his little hiney. For which they will need to knock him out, and he will have to fast, have an IV and all sorts of things that sound terrible for my baby!
He loves blowing raspberries.  All. The. Time.
So we are trying something else.  A new diet.  I had our appointment today, and she shocked me right away.  After reviewing our info, she asks, "Is your son the high-strung type? Lots of energy?" Actually yes, it is hard to hold on to him he moves so much! She 'diagnosed' him with extra Adrenaline.  Nothing wrong.  Very simple and normal actually.  1/3 of the population produces more adrenaline than needed. BUT, if you don't get enough fiber then the adrenaline starts recycling back onto the body.  So he has more energy every day! Because his body can't get rid of it. Which makes him hyper, and not sleep well, and be constipated.  The constipation things has something to do with the bile in his body, but I am not scientific enough for that.
So our new diet. I am only on the diet because we are breastfeeding.  So for now I am included.  But it consists of
NO Dairy
NO Sugar-in any way, shape or form. Artificial or otherwise.
NO Caffine
NO Alcohol.
NO fruit-actually it causes his body to produce more adrenaline!
Beans/soluble fiber 6 times a day for him, 3 for me.  We are going to loves beans!
And Water. Lots and lots of water.  A Gallon actually, everyday.

So hopefully in a week I will be telling you that he is going to the bathroom regularly.  And maybe sleeping.  And that I have gotten over my sugar cravings. If anyone has any recipes they want to volunteer that align with this I am happy to hear them.

It's going to be rough.  But my baby is worth it.
